Nothing Lovely

There is nothing lovely about school with the little guys this year. I planned school that could be done in bed and Thank God that all worked so well. However, I am no longer needing to be in bed and still no read a louds, art projects, theme weeks, cooking projects or liturgical calendar activities. Okay, so we just moved and we are living with mom and dad until our house ready, I'm cutting myself some slack; but, just the basics is just not lovely.

Tomorrow I am taking them to the library to see if we can drum up a good theme like Thanksgiving, pilgrims, apples or something like that. Maybe even to the grocery store to get some supplies for a good cooking project. Whatever we find has to be better than the 3 Rs alone.

A New Normal

Today I got out my planner. The last time I had it out was when the movers handed me the packing list on October 21st. Getting it out means that life is beginning to return to normal. Maybe normal is not the right word. What I mean is life is becoming a little more familiar.

I realized that I needed my planner this afternoon when I told the boys the dates and times they needed to be at basketball practice with a stern warning, "Don't forget because I probably will." That statement is far from normal and it was unsettling. Out came the planner, the packing list and a long forgotten twenty dollar bill.

Practices begin. Games soon to follow. My planner keeps all these things straight and that is our normal. It feels good.

I Promise

As soon as I get the camera off the moving truck the pictures on this blog will improve!

Same stuff new place.

Maryhelen and Kieran started basketball tonight. We have wasted not time getting back to the same old stuff.

Happy Halloween!

The three younger kids had a great time Trick or Treating with their cousins. The warm and blustery weather was perfect for Halloween, we all agreed. Lake Holiday has long been my favorite place for door to door fun. I love walking through the wooded streets at dusk with the kids. They have gobs of candy this morning and great memories.

Life At Grandparents House

They love to get the mail at GMas house since it involves a nice walk in the beautiful foliage.
